My name is Mike...i work at a local Honda Dealership. Im lookin at eventually starting my own shop...starting small at first (motor swaps, bolt-ons, maintenance, blady blady bla.) I do all my work myself, with the occasional advice from some of my boys. I truly believe that u get what u pay for. Ive learned my lesson more than once...long stories better left untold. Im always asking some kind of question...get used to it. Thats just the way I am. The things that i do to my car are b/c i want it that way. Not b/c its cool or im a poser. Ive been racing since i was about 14. I had my racing license before i had a permit, so odds are i kno how what im talking about 99% of the time when it comes to a good racing set up.........So there.

My car and I have a LOVE/Hate relationship...
Black `96 civic coupe. I bought it in Dec. `05 for $2,000 after taxes. It was A/T and non vtec single cam. Shortly after buying it, I swaped my first ls into her. wile i was at it i converted to M/T. Shortly after doing swap the fully rebuilt ls was destroyed by a defective oil pump. I then put in a D16y8. I replaced the timing belt and water pump before the timing decided to jump(non related incident) Saved some more money and went back to the ls motor, this time with a gsr tranny. this was the first time i didnt have access to a lift so it all had to be done in my garage.

I am going to probly paint it eather black or a really dark red. I am just waiting for the snow to go befour I get it done it should be soon. I am planing on being in VA. in april so if I dont do it in the next few weeks I will have to have it done there. Know of any good painting places down there for cheep?
thats the problem not the head bolts i hope but if its not that then its got to be the pistons but i think im going to get a new cam while im at it and if thats not the problem then were going to build the bottem end (o ya the conclushin is that im burning oil and it can only get so manny ways)

Lol, I'm new to the whole (ek, ej, eg...etc) bullcrap so I would have just believed anything u said. Lol. People don't even consider me to have a "true EJ" for whatever reasons. I think because the body title changed from the 96, 97, 98 to when they made the 99, 00 models. I don't get it, Lol. But I'm secretly falling in love with the background on your page. Whoever made that for u, give them brownie points. I do believe hatches are also called EH's, but I'm not sure. I have a EJ6 LX though. the 2000 model. She was a late runner too because she was made in August of 2000. I've heard from some body shops that sometimes my car is even considered a 2001 model since it was made so late, however the 2000 and 2001 model look nothing alike.
Lol...my car is an EJ6...not an EK. Lol. I have had people call is all kinds of things...but I checked my vin# and it goes 2HGEJ6...blah blah dee blah..
