Hey bro, haven't heard from you in a long time so i'm just checkin up on ya! How's the sol runnin? Still payin her off before you start workin on it? Now is a good time to build your plans on paper and get a good idea of exactly how much it'll cost and where you should start shopping from. It takes a while to find the best deals online.
That's a good idea paying off the car first. If i may make a suggestion, i'd say go with a Frankenstein. finding a B18 bottom end and 16 top end should be pretty easy. Then while you're piecing everything together, you can stuff the engine with goodies. If you build it for boost you can do REALLY good. The best part is, even if the engine is pretty high mileage, when you shove new pistons, cams, valvetrain, bearings, and other ??? like that it'll be a brand new STRONG engine. PLUS you can drive your sol around while you build the MONSTER MOTOR, and then one day you just drop it in and shock the sh!t outta everyone!!! Buget wise it makes the most sense b/c you can build it as slow as you want and even if something happens to your car (God forbid) you can just throw it in another car or sell it for big bux!
Dude, THAT right there is the age old question. it's the same question as why we're here. Any engine is good for any honda. It's all about what your goals are. Get at me and let me know what you're looking to gain from your sol and I can help you out. I've done this a hundred times, I've got it down to a science by now. I can get you what you want within your budget.
funny you should say that about the dodge diesels cuz i have a friend who owns an 02 cummins with an auto he hasnt modded it just a straight pipe well we were talking about all the tards who drive diesels around here and i said most of them which he knows are actually quite slow the owners just think theyre fast so i asked if e wanted to race keep in mind i have a stock d16y8 with i/h/e he said he would have me till i hit third i said well see long story short we raced twice i told him to start the first time and i pulled on him when i got traction the second run we started even and it was over before i got to second im not a liar and i know there are fast diesels and im not just saying oh yeah i beat one it was a stock auto but i beat him sooo badly he told me which ones i could beat and which ones to stay away from just thought id share that with you
