wats up man? saw that ur all about those twisties and thought u might be interested in my group i just started up. Sendin u an invite. If u join introduce urself on tha groups forum. Hope to hear from ya
Yeya the rods may be fine, but i would do somthing else if i were planning on revving over 8 or 9, here is the thing you will not hit 12 with taht ls motor im sorry to tell you but it wont happen and even if you did Here is the thing, It will blow up just because ls bottom ends are not ment to rev high, ls bottom ends dont have oil squirters for the crank so it dnt get that lube that stock vtec motor cranks get...So you can try if you wish but just remember i worned you b4 you built a ticking time bomb bro lol.
In most hondas you need vtec to go fast..Ill put it simply to go fast in a honda most of the time all motor applications you have to rev high, Vtec=Revving higher=More pwr, esspecially in the upper rpm range, look trust me a lsvtec set up is a bomb ass way to make both pwr and torque and as a mustage owner you should know torque wins races, only diff is that hondas dnt really need the higher diplacment. Here is the thing for hondas here is whats kool they constantly want to make more pwr at any higher rpm, thats why some race hondas rev 14k all day lol, If you have any more questions man let me know.
None VTEC.... My budy has a Ls NoNVtec stage 3 cams head work pistons and shyt only made 142..... You might wanna thinka bot vtec, the best all motor Non vtec i saw was 199whp crazy build in a rex only ran like 13.7... But your car bro w/e you wanna do, I recamend stage one cam with some valve train or type r cams, and a bomb ass tune lol, Let me know if u have any more questions pluss ur built is ganna end up being more expensive if not more expensive then a good ls vtec set up...sept without the pwr.
Also Shotpeend is a tecneque that a shop uses, they take your stock rods and shoot tons of very small glass and medal beads at your rods to compact them making the rod tighter and in resturn tighter means stronger. Basicley making them more compacted
Your best bet is to just keep your stock rods and have them shotpeend,
and make sure you get arp rod bolts the stock ones stretch o much to
use and also get new stock or acl rod bearings, also make sure to
replave your valve guids to, this is all vary inportant to maing a
strong ls-vtec taht wont blow up...
